Background

The Tauranga Moana Maori Trust Board has been successful in securing a contract with Housing New Zealand to deliver the Welcome Home First Steps Programme.

The Programme is being delivered to participants within the Bay of Plenty region.

The Programme

Participation in the programme offers the opportunity to access loans through Housing New Zealand including loans for building on multiple owned Maori land.

Welcome Home First Steps Programme

The Home Ownership Education modules are to:

Inform participants of the benefits and obligations of being a home owner
Provide participants with information that will enable them to make informed decisions

Course modules include the following:

Is home ownership right for you.
Deciding what you want and need in a home.
Goal setting and budgeting.
The home-buying process.
Getting a home loan.
Maintaining your home and building a home.
Selling your house and refinancing your home.
Building or relocating a house on Maori land.

Home Ownership Workshops will be facilitated at the Tauranga Moana Maori Trust Board offices, No.3 The Strand, Tauranga. Workshops may be held at other areas if required..
